Big Tigger Receives Warm Welcome From Prince George's County Executive Rushern L. Baker III For Big Tigger's 4th HIV/AIDS Annual Ride For Life
Presented By Suzuki Motor Corporation, Big Tigger's 4th Annual HIV/AIDS Ride For Life Is Considered the Largest African American Motorcycle Ride Benefiting HIV/AIDS.

WASHINGTON, DC, August 05, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Big Tigger, Host of CBS Radio's WPGC 95.5 FM "Big Tigger Morning Show" and WDCW CW 50's "Direct Access" received an official welcome and vow of support from Prince George's County Executive office for the fourth installment of Big Tigger's HIV/AIDS Ride For Life motorcycle charity ride. County Executive Rushern L. Baker III enthusiastically supports the mission of the historic ride to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS and promote prevention. Presented by Suzuki and the Street Corner Foundation (SCF), Big Tigger's 4th Annual HIV/AIDS Ride For Life will kick off on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Prince George's Stadium in Bowie Maryland.

With Maryland's alarming rate of sexually transmitted diseases, PG County continues to have the second-highest rate of reported AIDS and HIV cases, according to the county's health officials. Coupled Washington, DC's staggering HIV/AIDS infection rate, Big Tigger's 4th Annual HIV/AIDS Ride For Life is of special importance to Prince George's County and the metropolitan area.

"I want to applaud Big Tigger and the Street Corner Foundation for their outstanding efforts over the last 4 years to raise awareness of HIV/AIDs as one of the most important health issues facing communities of color and young people under the age of 25," said Baker. "Prince George's County remains committed to working in partnership with our neighbors across the Washington, D.C. region to address the need for education and prevention for all of our citizens."

Launching a bold and aggressive fundraising and awareness campaign benefiting HIV/AIDS, Suzuki and the Foundation will bring together approximately 2,000 bikers and enthusiasts for the extraordinary motorcycle charity ride & grand finale event. Hosted by Big Tigger, RIDE FOR LIFE will begin at 7am on Saturday, August 13th at Prince George's Stadium (Baysox Stadium), Bowie, MD for registration and staging. The official ride will commence at 12:00 noon, travel along the event route, and conclude at United Medical Center in Washington DC for the grand finale event.

Big Tigger will lead the convoy of veteran and new riders on the 23.4 mile trek for an inspiring event that will include health screening, and a fun-filled day with live music, entertainment, food and merchandise vendors, and a Suzuki sponsored bike raffle for an opportunity to win a choice of a 2011 Suzuki GSX-R100, Suzuki Hayabusa or Suzuki M109R.

The primary goal of this monumental event is to address the increasing rate of infection in communities of color and in individuals under the age of 25 in the Maryland and Washington DC areas as well as the rest of the country. Additionally, the ride will renew our sense of urgency about HIV/AIDS as a national health problem.

RIDE FOR LIFE is generously supported by the Presenting Sponsor Suzuki Motor Corporation and other sponsors and partners include Freestate/Atlantic Cycle, WDCW 50, Prince George's County Executive Office of Rushern Baker, 1 Source Consulting Inc., T.G.I. Friday's (Greenbelt, MD), and Platinum Rollers Motorcycle club.
