Laurel Advocacy And Referral Services (LARS) To Hold 5th Annual Silent Auction And Bull & Oyster Roast On June 12, 2010
Charity event that benefits homeless and low income families of Greater Laurel Maryland, is currently seeking additional items for the silent auction


LAUREL, MD, May 23, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Laurel Advocacy and Referral Services (LARS) will hold its 5th annual silent auction and bull & oyster roast at the American Legion Hall, Post No. 60, 2 Main Street, in Laurel, MD on Saturday June 12, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Advance tickets are available for $40 by calling 301-776-0442 or patrons can pay $45 on the day of the event.

The bull and oyster roast menu will be catered by Casey's Crab Company, menu items include: Maryland crab soup, pit beef, shucked oysters, fried oysters and steamed shrimp.

LARS is currently seeking additional items for the silent auction. Popular items that often bring high bids are theater or sporting event tickets, gift certificates for restaurants, goods and services, time shares, vacation rentals and speciality themed baskets. The Laurel Advocacy and Referral Services (LARS) was founded in 1987 when a group of local Laurel, Maryland pastors and laypeople came together to develop a consolidated approach to dealing with the number of people who were coming to their doors seeking assistance. LARS is a non-proselytizing ecumenical ministry serving the Greater Laurel area by assisting homeless and low income individuals or families experiencing crisis with emergency and long-term services designed to promote self-sufficiency. Their offices are currently located at 350 Municipal Square, Laurel, Maryland.
