Big Tigger Announces Joint Partnership with WPGC 95.5 FM to Present Big Tigger's 9th Annual Celebrity Classic
The Multimedia Giant and Radio Icon unite to host one of the largest HIV/AIDS Prevention Initiatives in the Washington DC Community

WASHINGTON, DC, April 16, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Long-time Activist and Internationally Radio Host and TV Host Big Tigger, announced the partnership with CBS owned radio station WPGC 95.5 FM and the Street Corner Foundation (SCF) to present Big Tigger's 9th Annual Celebrity Classic benefiting HIV/AIDS awareness. The joint venture unites the two entities to generate local and national attention to the devastating disease in the Washington DC area and beyond. With the generous support of the Washington, DC based station, Big Tigger's 9th Annual Celebrity Classic will be held June 11-13, 2010 in various locations throughout the city.

As in past years, Big Tigger's 9th Annual Celebrity Classic will bring together unparalleled celebrity support including a host of Hollywood stars, recording artists, and professional athletes. With the generous support of WPGC, this year's event will continue to deliver the important message "GET TESTED and KNOW YOUR STATUS."

As the flagship event of the Street Corner Foundation, Big Tigger's 9th Annual Celebrity Classic is expected to impact over 50,000 Washington DC residents with goal to increase testing and raise awareness of HIV/AIDS. The WPGC sponsored charity weekend will consist of numerous community events such as a Youth Sports Clinic, HIV Testing Initiatives, Welcome Reception and Silent Auction, Sponsors' Luncheon, WPGC & Big Tigger Block Party, a host of Red-Carpet Parties and the weekend's highlight - the All-Star Basketball Game.

In addition to being WPGC's new morning drive personality, Big Tigger is highly recognized for this efforts and his ability to raise awareness in the African American community. In 2007, the Centers for Disease Control's (CDC) recognized the TV and radio personality as one of the prominent African American leaders in the fight against HIV/AIDS. He was also awarded the 2006 Visionary of the Year by the National Association of Black State Legislators for his work with HIV/AIDs. Through a series of events throughout the year, the Foundation and Big Tigger echo the message "Get Tested and Know Your Status."
