Government Construction Contracting: Extraordinary Growth Potential for Construction Firms Nationwide
US Federal Government to Spend Over $500 Billion On Construction, All Trades Needed
WASHINGTON, DC, January 15, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- TargetGov's teleconference "Government Construction Contracting," will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 to help construction trades learn the requirements to participate in these contracts. Experts John Hughes, Joshua Etemadi, and Gloria Berthold Larkin will address where to find specific business and bidding opportunities, related bonding requirements, the unique nature of federal contracts and how to position trade and construction firms to win contracts.
The U.S. Federal Government is planning, designing, constructing, renovating and deconstructing more buildings in the next 12 months than they have ever done in one single year. Why the massive amounts of work and contract opportunities? Three basic reasons:
1) Recovery Spending: Over $200 billion will be spent in the next 18 months on new construction and renovations nation-wide, 2) BRAC: Construction is in high gear for BRAC bases nationwide, and 3)the annual federal construction budget has increased dramatically.
TargetGov's national teleconference, "Government Construction Contracting," will help contractors learn how to take advantage of these opportunities. The teleconference will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at 10:00 am PST, 11:00 am MST, noon CST and 1:00 pm EST. In addition to the ability to attend this live teleconference, attendees will receive a complimentary 50 page Toolkit with specific details about Government Construction Contracting.
This toolkit, in conjunction with the teleconference, will cover the registrations required, where to locate specific contract opportunities, what agencies are responsible for these opportunities, how to identify the upcoming pipeline for opportunities and how to identify prime and subcontracting opportunities as well as what construction bonds are and who must be "bonded", the differences between and costs of bid bonds, performance bonds, and payment bonds.
Expert speakers for this teleconference are John Hughes, President of Construction Bonds, Inc., John Entemadi, Surety Bond Producer with CBI, and Gloria Berthold Larkin, President of TargetGov.
John Hughes founded CBI in 2003 to provide bonds through the SBA bond guarantee program and traditional A-rated bond markets to emerging contractors. With over 40 years experience in insurance and bonding, including a strong background in construction insurance and bonding and multiple professional insurance affiliations, Mr. Hughes is responsible for all facets of the agency's operations.
Joshua Etemadi is a surety bond producer at CBI. He is dedicated to helping small contractors understand bonding issues and gives numerous seminars outside of the office and also volunteers through the Prince George's County and DC CBE Contractor Development Programs.
Gloria Berthold Larkin is the President of TargetGov and the national Procurement Committee Co-Chair for Women Impacting Public Policy. She is an expert at government procurement and related business development and marketing services including minority certification services, contract development, GSA Schedules, proposal management and development, contract administration and federal contracting services.
