ITP National Patient Conference to Feature Country's Top Hematologists
PDSA will offer those with ITP and other platelet disorders the opportunity to learn about the most up-to-date information on ITP, including the latest research and newest treatments, from the most-respected and knowledgeable hematologists in the country.
/Maryland News Articles/ - ROCKVILLE, MD, May 06, 2008 - The Platelet Disorder Support Association is pleased to announce its medical programs and presenters line-up for ITP Conference 2008, which will be held June 20-22 in Lombard, Illinois, just outside of Chicago. This year's conference theme, "Lighting the Way: Celebrating a Decade of Caring, Sharing & Hope," commemorates the nonprofit organization's 10th anniversary.
PDSA will offer those with ITP and other platelet disorders the opportunity to learn about the most up-to-date information on ITP, including the latest research and newest treatments, from the most-respected and knowledgeable hematologists in the country. There will be ample opportunity to talk face-to-face with these doctors in two split sessions: one for adults with ITP and the other for children with ITP.
If you haven't attended an ITP Conference before, this is the year to come. The Platelet Disorder Support Association will honor Founder, Joan Young, upon her retirement as president. To celebrate the PDSA's 10th anniversary, a whole host of special activities is planned, including a 10th anniversary party featuring Comedian Rocky LaPorte. The beautiful and brand new Westin Lombard Yorktown Center will serve as the host hotel.

„h Important Tips for Managing ITP: What Every Patient Needs to Know - Howard Liebman, MD, Professor of Medicine and Pathology and is Section Head, Hematology, Division of Cancer Medicine and Blood Diseases at the University of Southern California's (USC) Keck School of Medicine, Los Angeles, CA. Michael Tarantino, MD, Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine-Peoria.
