ITP National Patient Conference Adds Two Dinner Seminars
These educational seminars will provide patients and health care professionals with clinical information on diagnosis and management of patients with ITP and a better understanding of the drug approval process for new treatments.


    /Maryland News Articles/ - ROCKVILLE, MD, May 29, 2008 - The Platelet Disorder Support Association is pleased to announce the addition of two dinner seminars to the ITP Conference 2008, which will be held June 20-22 in Lombard, Illinois, just outside of Chicago. This year's conference theme, "Lighting the Way: Celebrating a Decade of Caring, Sharing & Hope," commemorates the nonprofit organization's 10th anniversary.

On Friday, June 20th from 6:30-8:45 PM, PDSA and The France Foundation presents Targeted Approaches for the Management of ITP: Differential Diagnosis, Primary and Secondary Causes, and New Management Strategies. This CME program is sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline.

On Saturday, June 21st from 6:00-8:00 PM, PDSA and Amgen presents Recent FDA Regulations for Increased Safety Monitoring of Drugs.

These educational seminars will provide patients and health care professionals with clinical information on diagnosis and management of patients with ITP and a better understanding of the drug approval process for new treatments.

If you haven't attended an ITP Conference before, this is the year to come. The Platelet Disorder Support Association will honor Founder Joan Young upon her retirement as president. To celebrate the PDSA's 10th anniversary, a whole host of special activities is planned, including a 10th anniversary party featuring Comedian Rocky LaPorte. The beautiful and brand new Westin Lombard Yorktown Center will serve as the host hotel.
